Fun In The Sun by Douglas Burton and Raed Alawadhi

Douglas Burton and Raed Alawadhi of Apartment Zero created a modern, sophisticated al fresco living space. Three connected levels allow for separate outdoor rooms, including a seating area (pictured here) with sofas by Modern Outdoor, a sculptural rocking chair by Ron Arad for Magis and a fire pit by Extremis. Planters by Serralunga are filled with wild grasses.

Design by by Xavier Lust, inspired by the constructive language of plant seeds transported by the wind, the Gamete.MGX lamp contains an elegant envelope which protects our eyes from the light.

This bath by Yoko Barsky won an NKBA Award for Small Bath – Best of Class

Yoko Barsky from Deco Design Studio created a powder room with a punch-one that would stand out even without the help of natural light. He began by installing the LED lights that gradually increase in brightness to reveal a shiny, black-and-stone countertops, stained cabinets and black matte porcelain mosaic-tiled walls in shades of gray. A white egg-shaped basin offers a contrast in colors and shapes, custom mirror projects from the faucet to save desk space. Read the rest of this entry »
